Wisconsin's climate is not the best suited for growing grapes to produce the wines we are most accustomed to drinking.  However, Wollersheim Winery in Prairie du Sac and Cedarburg has found four varieties of grapes that grow well here.  In doing so they recently received a record six awards while competing against more than 1,700 entries from the United States and 12 other countries at the San Diego International Wine Competition. Wollersheim landed platinum medals for its Dry Riesling and Prairie Blush wines as well as its Cedar Creek line of Waterfall Riesling and La Belle Vie wines. The company also received Best of Class in the Riesling category for White Riesling and for the Seyval grape category with Prairie Fume.

Chocolatier William Curley has set a Guinness World Record by crafting the most expensive non-jeweled chocolate egg ever sold at auction.The 110-pound confection - christened the Golden Speckled Egg - sold for more than $10,000 to technology investor Cyrus Vandrevala.
