Forget traditional chocolate made from cow’s milk, the newest chocolate to hit the global market will be made from camel’s milk. Who would have thought? Dubai-based company, Al-Nassma did.
Founded in October 2009 by Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Austrian chocolate manufacturer Manner, al-Nassma is the world’s first producer of chocolate made from this desert-roaming animal.
The company hopes to start selling its chocolates in Arab countries, Europe, the United States and Japan soon as well as on its Web site which will launch within the next month.
According to Martin Van Almsick, al-Nessma general manager, camel’s milk is healthier than cow’s milk and is great for people with diabetes or lactose-intolerance.
Will you be daring enough to try this latest chocolate product?

Eating chocolate is not only tasty, but may also be beneficial during pregnancy. A recent study revealed that eating chocolate during the first 17 weeks of pregnancy can reduce the level of stress a mother experiences which in turn is beneficial to a child’s brain development.
According to this article, theobromine, the chemical in cocoa that tastes bitter, is known to keep blood pressure steady and may also reduce the risk of hypertension, both of which are beneficial to the mother and her child.
In 2004, researchers at the University of Helsinki, Finland asked 300 pregnant women to rate their stress levels and levels of chocolate consumption.  Half a year after birth, the mothers were asked to log their young ones behavior within a few categories. The babies of mothers who had eaten chocolate daily during pregnancy had a happier disposition and were more open to new situations.
We at Swiss Maid Fudge eat a lot of chocolate and can attest to its stress relieving power! Visit our shop and buy some fudge online to relieve that stress!

Although working at Google may not seem at all related to working here at Swiss Maid Fudge, we both now have one great thing in common—free fudge!
A recent forum on the site Reddit.com revealed that Google employees receive free fudge brownies at work. Most of us have heard of the other amazing perks of working at Google, such as massages and free lunches, but here at Swiss Maid Fudge we can appreciate the appeal of a delicious fudge treat.
The article went on to reveal that while most Google employees love the benefits of working at the company, some have a few complaints—one even involved the quality of the fudge on the free brownies. If employees had tried our fudge, we are betting there wouldn’t be any complaints!
If you want to try our fudge, you can browse our fudge online shop where you can find many varieties of gourmet delicious treats to buy all shipped to your door.

“] Fudge with walnuts. [Photograph: www.WorthTheWhisk.com on Flickr There are few treats that bring back the taste of childhood like rich, creamy, gourmet fudge. As rich as the treat itself is the confection’s history, which dates back to the 1880s. Contrary to popular belief, fudge is actually an American invention that resulted from an accident with a bungled (or “fudged”) batch of caramels. The sugar was allowed to recrystallize, and the name was born from the interjection, “Oh fudge!”
Emelyn Battersby Hartridge, a Vassar College student in Poughkeepsie, NY, created the one of the first documentations of fudge in a letter to her family. In her letter, she referred to a schoolmate’s cousin who made fudge in Baltimore in 1886 and sold it for 40 cents a pound. She snatched the recipe up, and in 1888, made 30 pounds of it for the Vassar Senior Auction. The trend quickly caught on at other women’s colleges such as Wellesley and Smith, both of which developed their own versions of this “original” fudge recipe.
After all these years, Swiss Maid Fudge has changed the process very little, maintaining the precise measurements, cooking time and stirring that are crucial for perfect fudge. And while the recipe may not look all that overwhelming—heat a mixture of sugar, butter and milk or cream to the soft-ball stage (224°-238°F), then beat it to a smooth, creamy consistency while it cools – fudge is notoriously easy to undercook or overcook.
Lucky for you, we’ve perfected the process and are shipping the same quality, homemade fudge that fascinated Emelyn Hartridge years ago, Â straight to the comforts of your home!

Gourmet fudge is more than just a delicious, creamy and sinfully delicious dessert. It’s an art form. Making candy by hand, especially gourmet fudge has fallen out of popularity. In our modern society, we tend to not consider the source of what we’re eating, particularly when it’s in the “dessert” category. Using a mix or opening a box is still considered “making dessert”, when in fact it is not even close. To make a dessert requires much more knowledge and practice. Specifically, making handmade gourmet fudge requires a great deal of creativity and skill, something that the creators of Swiss Maid Fudge, found online at www.swissmaidfudge.com have in spades.
The flavors of their handmade gourmet fudge are also impressive. You can choose between several basic gourmet fudge flavors, such as Milk Chocolate Plain gourmet fudge, and Dark Chocolate Plain gourmet fudge. Or, you can choose something slightly more daring, such as their Chocolate Covered Cherry gourmet fudge, and Cookies and Cream Immersion (Oreo) gourmet fudge.
No matter which flavor you choose, you know you’re getting quality ingredients and a product made by people who have a passion for their product! Gourmet fudge makes the perfect hostess gift, thank you gift or a special treat for a special occasion. Swiss Maid Fudge can also gift-wrap your purchase, allowing your gourmet fudge to arrive ready to give. Swiss Maid Fudge makes all of their artisan gourmet fudge by hand, and then is hand packaged in their candy shop, so you are certain to receive top quality fudge every time.
Another excellent idea for handmade gourmet fudge, is as favors for your baby shower, (what expectant mother wouldn’t love some gourmet fudge?) sweet sixteen party, birthday party, or wedding. Favors are often something a guest won’t use and can be a big waste of an event’s budget if not chosen carefully. Handmade gourmet fudge is always a winner! Visit Swiss Maid Fudge at their candy shop located on Superior Street in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin to see their handmade candies, salt water taffy and gourmet fudge being made right before your eyes. Give them a call or visit today and experience gourmet fudge making the old fashioned way.
If you don’t live close enough to pay a visit in person, you can visit their online shop at www.swissmaidfudge.com to order their gourmet fudge, handmade caramels, salt water taffy and more. Shipping costs are very reasonable, and your gourmet fudge will arrive in excellent condition, and quickly too! Give them a call today and experience gourmet fudge making the old fashioned way.
If you’ve never had handmade, artisan gourmet fudge then some would say you’ve never had “real” fudge. It is delicious, made with quality ingredients-none of the fillers and artificial preservatives you’ll find in store bought, mass produced low quality fudge. Every bite of handmade, gourmet fudge is smooth, light and melts in your mouth. Swiss Maid Fudge makes excellent gourmet fudge, and is available to answer any questions you have.

Gourmet fudge is a decadent treat. Everyone loves its velvety-smooth, chocolaty flavor, and everyone knows the best gourmet fudge doesn’t come from a box; it comes from the kitchens of small candy shops, where gourmet fudge recipes have been handed down and refined over the course of generations. Swiss Maid Fudge, a Wisconsin-based candy maker that has been family owned and operated for two generations, makes some of the best fudges and candies in the business. And, even better, they ship them directly to your doorstep.
Gourmet fudge, from Swiss Maid Fudge, comes a wide variety of flavors, to suit almost any taste. Classic plain dark chocolate fudge, is, of course, available, but so are more exotic varieties. Swiss Maid’s Cookies and Cream Immersion fudge, for example, is packed with delicious chunks of real Oreo cookies. Swiss Maid’s maple fudge, meanwhile, tastes like real maple syrup. Peanut butter fudge is also available, as are several different flavors of vanilla.
Aside from its gourmet fudge, Swiss Maid makes a number of different kinds of candies and treats. Swiss Maid’s caramel apples are a delightful twist on a classic fairground favorite. In addition to plain caramel, Swiss Maid offers them in a wide variety of different flavors, including white chocolate and rocky road. Swiss Maid also makes brittles and crunches, salt-water taffies, caramel corn, and hand-dipped chocolates. Speaking of the latter, do not miss Swiss Maid’s amazing hand-dipped fortune cookies—they make a truly astounding finish for any luxurious, Asian-inflected meal.
The reason Swiss Maid Fudge is able to produce such extraordinary gourmet fudge (and other candies) is that they use time-tested methods. Every batch of gourmet fudge from Swiss Maid Fudge is made in copper kettles, on iron stoves. Using this antique equipment allows Swiss Maid to make a product unrivalled in quality by any mass-produced imitator. No major industrial candy maker can match Swiss Maid in attention to detail.
Swiss Maid also uses nothing but the very best ingredients in all their candies. Chocolates are made with real cocoa, and fudges and caramels are made with the freshest creams and butters available. (Swiss Maid Fudge is located in Wisconsin, remember, so the freshest creams and butters available are among the freshest in the entire world).
The freshness of their ingredients, combined with their traditional techniques, make Swiss Maid’s gourmet fudges among the best available in the world today. Swiss Maid will ship anywhere in the country, and their goods are always packed fresh, so they arrive in peak condition.
